My wild night out last Friday on my business trip in Sonoma started off at the Super 8 Motel in Cloverdale, a little town just 12 miles north of Healdsburg and 80 miles north of San Francisco. After a long day of painting in one of the most beautiful homes in wine country, I retired to the comforts of my quaint little hotel room situated in the heart of Cloverdale, in a mini-mall, next to a small restaurant called McDonalds. After a quick shower and a change of clothes, I decided to take in the sights and go for a short walk around the parking lot. I passed a nail salon, a postal annex and a taqueria.
The days were getting shorter and the sun was setting, signaling my stomach it was dinnertime. Along the neon signs, I came across a little diner called Star restaurant. Inside I found just what I was looking for: comfort foods and comforting service. The rest of my wild and crazy night can be summed up in the pictures below.
